It’s here! The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is Living Coral. We are so excited about this choice for many reasons, one being, WE LOVE COLOR, and bright ones in particular. Living Coral speaks to playfulness, travel, and the outdoors. Fitting that this was announced at the Royal Palm of South Beach the night before Art Basel’s opening in Miami! It works in your beach house, but can also be a fun addition to a more sophisticated glam space, an office, and so much more. Here are 4 inspired ways to add Living Coral to your space.

1. Accents and Furniture

Once you’ve chosen Living Coral, you can add accents to go with it. From painting furniture in living coral, to adding pillows, and accessories that match, living coral can be the playfulness you need to add to any kind of room.

2. Guest or Kid’s Rooms

This is a no brainer! The spare room is a place to have fun, and make your guests feel like they’re on vacation. A kids room is also the perfect place to add a splash of youthful color like Living Coral. Here is our play on it from our Stockton project in this twin girls room.

3. Tile for Bathrooms and Backsplashes

Briony Fitzgerald

More and more, people are stepping away from boring, plain tile and adding something a little more unique. For 2019 we are going to be seeing lots of fun in kitchen and bathroom tiles, like this fish scale tile from Briony FItzgerald. We are just loving this salmon/coral color they have chosen, and think showering in here would be a bright start to anyone’s day.

4. Beach Houses

We’re from Florida, so yes we know beach houses, and what comes to mind when you think of coral? The beach! The perfect place for Living Coral is of course, your year round seaside retreat. Of the many beach houses we have done, some form of Coral has always incorporated whether that is an accent pillow, paint color, or actual coral accessories. We are looking forward to incorporating Living Coral into some of our 2019 beach house projects.
